Western International School Responds to Crisis: Emergency Fund for War-Displaced Cambodians

In response to the devastating humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, Western International School (WIS) has launched an Emergency Relief Fund aimed at helping those who have been forced to flee their homes.

As fighting intensifies along the border, thousands of Cambodian families have found themselves displaced, seeking shelter and safety from the violence. WIS has mobilized quickly, recognizing the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in affected regions.

Standing with the People: WIS Emergency Response

The Western International School Fund is dedicated to raising financial support for individuals and families who are suffering from the direct consequences of this conflict. The school is calling on students, staff, parents, alumni, and the broader public to stand in solidarity with those affected by:

  • Providing temporary shelter and tents

  • Ensuring access to food, water, and basic supplies

  • Supporting emergency medical care and transportation

  • Offering psychosocial support for children and families in distress

WIS believes that education goes beyond the classroom. It’s about fostering compassion, responsibility, and real-world action. Through this initiative, the school aims to show students what community leadership and service truly mean during times of crisis.

How You Can Help

Anyone wishing to make a difference can contribute by scanning the QR code in the official campaign flyer (see image). Donations, no matter how small, can help save lives and restore dignity to displaced families.

All funds will be channeled directly to relief operations in coordination with trusted local partners and authorities on the ground. Transparency and impact reporting will be prioritized to ensure that contributors can see the real outcomes of their generosity.

A Message from Western International School

“In times of hardship, we must come together—not just as a school, but as a community, a country, and as human beings. We are committed to doing more and doing better, not only for our students but for our nation.”
— WIS Leadership Team

This campaign also serves as a teaching moment for WIS students about civic responsibility, empathy, and the role of institutions in promoting peace and humanitarian values.
