Singapore Cambodia International Academy (SCIA) is celebrating a remarkable achievement as three of its Grade 3 students clinched the Bronze Medal in the prestigious Gizmos STEM Competition 2024–2025 (Category 1: Primary Years K–5). Competing against leading schools from Southeast, Southern, and Central Asia, the SCIA team stood out for their innovation, problem-solving ability, and confident presentation.
The competition challenged young minds to design STEM projects aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The SCIA team’s standout project, the “Garbage Collector Robot,” impressed judges by tackling real-world environmental concerns through creative engineering and teamwork.
Creativity and Purpose: Building Solutions for the Future
The Gizmos STEM Competition encourages students to think beyond classroom walls. SCIA’s young innovators developed their Garbage Collector Robot to address the critical issue of waste management. Guided by mentors, the team applied science, technology, engineering, and math in a way that was not only educational but also socially meaningful.
This achievement reflects SCIA’s mission to empower students with the skills and mindset to lead in a global context. By nurturing curiosity and applying learning to practical challenges, SCIA cultivates young leaders who are ready to solve the problems of tomorrow.
