Angkor Intellectual Academy Students Showcase Town Learning Project

At The Angkor Intellectual Academy – Boeng Trabaek Branch (AiA), young learners are taking their classroom knowledge beyond books and into the real world with an engaging, hands-on town-building project. The recent showcase featured students working together to design and present a model town—a fun and educational way to consolidate what they’ve learned about community structure, geography, and collaboration.

This interactive project reflects AiA’s commitment to experiential learning and nurturing curiosity in early childhood education.

Building Our Town: A Child’s Eye View of Community

Using colorful materials and imaginative thinking, students recreated essential elements of a town—roads, parks, buildings, and shops. They discussed the role of each space and how communities function, developing not only spatial awareness but also a deeper understanding of everyday civic life.

Guided by their teachers, the children actively applied concepts related to urban design, map reading, and social roles in a meaningful and memorable way.
