On April 29, 2025, students from Western International School took a significant step toward their future by visiting De Montfort University Cambodia (DMUC). Led by the International Relations team, Grade 11 and 12 students participated in a university campus tour and attended an eye-opening workshop titled “Preparing Yourself Before Entering University.”
This visit formed part of the school’s University Counseling Program, aimed at equipping students with knowledge and readiness for the transition from high school to higher education.
A Glimpse Into University Life
At DMUC, students were welcomed into a vibrant academic environment where they had the chance to:
-
Explore university classrooms and facilities
-
Interact with university staff and student ambassadors
-
Attend a practical session on the academic, emotional, and lifestyle adjustments required for university success
This initiative helped students clearly understand the differences between high school and university education, including time management, academic independence, and expectations for self-directed learning.
Bridging the Gap Between School and University
The program emphasizes the importance of career readiness and post-secondary planning. Western International School continues to prioritize preparing students not just for graduation, but for real-world challenges—academic and beyond.
By visiting a reputable university like DMUC, students not only gain exposure to new learning environments but also begin to envision their own educational paths.
