Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers in Cambodia

UNICEF Cambodia and Impact Hub Phnom Penh have successfully wrapped up Phase 2 of Generation Future 2025, hosting an intensive and inspiring Leadership Bootcamp designed to uplift youth voices and equip them with practical leadership tools. This initiative brought together 15 youth teams from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, who engaged in a transformative 96-hour field program aimed at building their leadership, innovation, and social impact skills.

The Leadership Bootcamp is part of a broader effort to strengthen the role of young people as active contributors to Cambodia’s future. The selected participants were not just learners—they were changemakers preparing to tackle some of the country’s most pressing social challenges.

Hands-On Experience with Real Impact

Throughout the Bootcamp, participants worked closely with expert project coaches and professionals from UNICEF Cambodia, refining their ideas and gaining valuable mentorship. This collaboration helped youth shape well-structured, sustainable social initiatives that reflect local needs and aspirations.

The program also included field visits to 8 impactful organizations across various sectors. These included mental health, child protection, climate action, STEM education, and more—exposing participants to real-world applications of their interests and empowering them to think beyond the classroom.

Skills That Matter for the Future

One of the most powerful takeaways from the Generation Future 2025 Bootcamp was the focus on practical skills. Participants developed competencies in:

  • Project management

  • Financial planning

  • Team collaboration

  • Communication and public speaking

These are essential capabilities that not only enhance employability but also prepare young people to launch community projects, advocate for change, and lead with purpose.

Driving Local Solutions through Youth Leadership

Programs like this underscore the importance of investing in Cambodia’s youth as architects of sustainable development. By giving them access to training, mentorship, and exposure to community issues, UNICEF Cambodia and Impact Hub are bridging the gap between potential and action.

From developing solutions in STEM fields to addressing climate concerns and mental health needs, the youth leaders of Generation Future 2025 are ready to implement change in their local communities—and beyond.

This Leadership Bootcamp is not just a program; it’s a movement toward empowering a new generation of socially conscious, resilient, and capable leaders in Cambodia.
