At Kinderland Cambodia, learning is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and hands-on exploration. In a recent classroom activity, nursery students began their journey into the world of plants—starting with the vibrant and cheerful sunflower. This initiative, which combines sensory art with early environmental education, brought learning to life in a colorful and meaningful way.

A Garden of Creativity

Using handprint petals, fingerprint seeds, and tissue roll stems, students at Kinderland created their own artistic versions of sunflowers. These cheerful creations were proudly “planted” in the school’s mini garden, transforming the space into a blooming display of imagination and effort.

This activity is more than just art—it builds fine motor skills, supports early science learning, and encourages students to express their emotions through tactile experiences. It’s also a powerful way to introduce the concept of growth, both in nature and in themselves.

Learning Through Nature

Kinderland’s sunflower project is part of a broader approach that integrates nature into early childhood education. As students observe their sunflowers “growing” and take part in gardening-related activities, they develop a deeper appreciation for the environment.

This kind of experiential learning has long-lasting benefits. It enhances children’s observational skills, teaches responsibility, and instills values such as care, patience, and sustainability—all while having fun in a safe and nurturing space.

Building Bonds and Joyful Memories

The sunflower project also fosters strong teacher-student relationships. As seen in the joyful images from the classroom, teachers closely guide each child through the process, ensuring that every student feels supported and proud of their work.

In this welcoming and collaborative environment, children thrive—not just academically, but emotionally and socially.

Where Learning Grows with Joy

With campuses in both Toul Kork and Toul Tom Poung, Kinderland Cambodia continues to offer high-quality early education rooted in play, discovery, and love for learning. Their curriculum blends global best practices with local relevance, preparing young learners for the future while grounding them in the joy of the present.
